Nelumbo Lutea

Hi Everybody,

Thanks for taking the time to read my post.

I'm trying to get away from pencil marks on my paintings - so today I drew with water soluble pencils. And I think it is going to work for me. I enjoyed painting this piece. I painted in the background first and then worked from the outside in. The colors I used were Q. Rose, French Ultra Marine, Aurelian, and New Gamboge. And of course the white is the white of the paper.

Tall Drink

of Cool, Clean, water. I didnt know what to paint and I was feeling antsy and wrestless. Not much in the mood to paint. I thought I would do a value study painting of this glass of water with lemon. And look what happened! The color crept in. I'll be in Sedona Thursday and Friday. When I get back to the studio I want to put it back together! The mess from the flood and not being able to park the car in the garage is driving me. So I may not have a post until this Monday night - wow that would be the first of Feb. Today my puppy George is eleven months old.

Two Hearts

This one took yesterday and today to paint. I am very pleased with the way it turned out, and I'm thinking romance with the flowers and the wedding rings and valentines. So I'm thinking of a title and I'm thinking "Two Roses" - "Two Rings" - "Two Hearts" -beating as one. I love this piece I may keep it hanging around for a while.

love,

me

NeillyBly

A little watercolor done on my youngest sons Birthday so I tried to work his name into it. I used hematite for the tiles on this image. I love this paint because of how it settles in the texture of the paper. It is really grainy.
