Angel of Grief

How can I explain or even begin to describe, the pain we have all experienced in one form or another. The Grief of lost hope and promises unfulfilled.
The trauma and pain of a relationship severed suddenly, without closure or last good byes. The lonely nights and the empty bed.
Harsh cruel words spoken, only to be forgotten and replaced, by the gentle caress of lost love. Fighting the desire to call or search my love out! Only to remember there is no escape from our fighting and my feeling of suffocation of being trapped in my own home.
Losing a part of me that can never be regained, my naivete. The trust lost, but with time I will once again regain.

Angel of Grief is an 1894 sculpture by William Wetmore Story which serves as the grave stone of the artist and his wife at the Protestant Cemetery, Rome.

A Jar of Tulips

I am so pleased with this painting. I love how the back lighting creates a glow to the flowers, and the contrast of the light and dark. Tulips are probably one of my favorite flowers, and they are simply displayed in this glass jar, yet they look so elegant.

Steps 4 and 5

Step 5

The one inch pieces were then mounted onto a piece of poster board that I folded into an accordion. This is the view from the right.

The view straight forward. I think it read pretty well as one flower. I would say this mission is accomplished.

And this is the view from the left.

Step 4
The printed pieces were cut into one inch strips

The Long Awaited 3rd Step

Thanks so much for patiently waiting. Life has been a challenge of late and I'm sorry to say I haven't been in the studio to much in the last couple of weeks.

So here is the long awaited Step 3. A print of the digital image. My printer may need ink or calibration, as you can see the color is way off. The copy is on top and the original is below it.

Fire Floral

This little project has been spinning in my head for just a little to long. What I would like to do is paint two paintings that are very similar. So this is the first one. So this would be step one of five.

STEP ONE: Fire Floral - painting one

p.s. did any one notice the little heart in yesterdays painting? I know Kathaleen did.

Blossoms Reaching

Hi Everyone,

In Northern Arizona we are experiencing a beautiful and abundant Spring. While it is the desert - it is lush in its own way - the trees are blooming - I fall in love each year, more and more, amazing.

9 - 11

What a crippling and vulnerable time for this once strong, fearless and impenetrable nation.

Slowly, she was chipped away - Stripped of her innocence. Down on her knees, asking, "How did this Happen? When and how did it all go wrong?

Change the locks, the codes, and guard the boarders. Be careful of who is let in.

And so it goes.

Living in fear. United and shaken to our core. Living in stages of RED or ORANGE alert! High alert - suspicious and on guard of what is yet to come.

We lived in fear, and mourned our once great nation. How could this of happened?

We held our breath and waited.

And slowly we began to rebuild, slowly we learn who are allies are.

Today - I am alone - I am that Nation.

I have these trees that are covered with blooming white flowers. I'm thinking I might do a little series of them. Many of you may or may not be aware that in watercolor we don't use white paint, the white you see is the white of the paper. As you look at the flower petals keep in mind the white is the paper. . . Happy Painting!

From posting my "Daily Paintings" I have become painfully aware that my blog is lacking. So I signed up for a 4-week "Blog Triage" class with Cynthia Morris http://journeyjuju.com and Alyson Stanfield http://artbizblog.com. Today's assignment was to describe the people I would like to visit my Blog.

I imagine the people I would like to visit and share my blog with are all my friends, family, other artist, collectors, and art lovers in general.

People from all over the U.S., Europ and the World. They would gain pleasure in receiving a painting with their numerous emails, A painting might give them the simple pleasure in viewing, and a thirst curiosity as to how it was inspired or created.

Both men and women in a wide ranging age group, who are becoming more and more comfortable with the internet, blogging, commenting, and networking. They would share my blog with their friends, family, artist, and art lovers.

I hope they would enjoy watching the growth and the challenges I go through as an artist. And that they would appreciate my commitment to my art as well as to the blog.

Most of all I hope to bring them pleasure and excitement, that they can't wait to see the next posted painting, that their sheer delight would lead them to comment, or share with others, or to a purchase.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to read this.
Happy Painting, Teresa
